Receipts & credit vouchers

Every payment can be handed to the patient as a receipt, and every credit on account as a credit voucher. Both come out with your clinic's branding, their folio and a signature line, and can be printed or sent by WhatsApp.

A receipt is not a tax invoice. The document says so plainly: "Payment receipt — not a tax invoice (CFDI)". If the patient needs an invoice, that's done in CFDI 4.0 e-invoicing (SAT, Mexico).

Right when you collect

As soon as you record a payment, the Payment recorded window appears and asks Does the patient want their receipt? with three ways out: Done, 🖨️ Print and 📲 Send.

That's the quickest route: the patient is still standing at the front desk.

Later, from the record

1. Open the patient's record and go to the Payments tab.
2. Find the payment and use 🖨️ Receipt to print it or save it as a PDF, or 📲 Send to send it by WhatsApp.

The receipt carries its own folio (for example R-0001), the concept, the payment method, the amount and a Received in good order line.

Credit voucher

A credit on account — money the patient pays in advance that doesn't yet correspond to a treatment — has its own document, with a folio like A-0001. Instead of a concept it shows how much they paid in and how much credit they have left.

That's the difference worth keeping clear: the receipt proves payment for something done; the credit voucher certifies a balance in the patient's favor.

Recommendation

Offering the receipt at the moment of payment changes a lot: that's when the patient values it and when it costs you no effort. See also Cash cut & count and Finance.
